4 out of 5 stars Really Good Album Production   December 29, 2008
Survival Of The Fittest is really a good album production wise from start to finish, and this is coming from a West Coast born and Raised music listener, 20+yrs btw!. The "rhymes" are decent to, and I DO recommend this album to anyone, but you do need a system for it to sound "right" otherwise you doing yours ears injustice!!!!!!!!!!

5 out of 5 stars The best   September 19, 2008

This Album is so good that Trill Ent. has the West Coast giving respect and then savage life 2 has 2 songs that already hit the streets so the world better look out for Boosie, Webbie, Big Head, and Lil Foxx in the future because Louisiana (the 225 area) is taking over

1 out of 5 stars 1-1/2 stars -- Ladies and gentlemen, the wackest people alive!   August 15, 2007

Although I never cared for Webbie or Lil' Boosie (I personally think Boosie has the most annoying voice in hip-hop), for some reason I still decided to check out the compilation album from their label, Trill Entertainment. Calling themselves Trill Fam, they decided to introduce the world to their style on Survival of the Fittest. But it turns out that their style is non-existent.

You really wouldn't know what to expect from these guys, especially when you have rappers with names like Big Head, Phat, Mouse and Shell. And this family tree never should have grown because honestly, these guys are so horrible that they make the St. Lunatics look like the Wu-Tang Clan. By now, I'm sure people are familiar with "Wipe Me Down", which makes no sense (especially that "shoulders, chest, pants, shoes" part). But the sad thing is, that's actually the best song.

There are a lot of other senseless songs, like "Leave the Tags On" and "Watch My Shoes", as well as the aptly titled "Same Old Ish". And sorry, but "Materialistic B" is no "Gold Digger". There are also already bad songs made worse by repetitive choruses, like "Do It Stick It", "Got Me Bent" and Boosie's solo, "Thug Me Like That". Then there's "Swangin'", where Webbie says: "Ol' p a** n/Can't you tell from my lyrics?" Well, at least he's honest.

The only redeeming point of this whole album is the third verse in the obligatory song about pushing white, "U Got Cake". But that definitely isn't enough to make anyone care about the rest of the album (why else do you think that after three months, this is only the third review for it?). As reviewer Pablo said, Pimp C seriously needs to do a better job of scouting talent because the Trill Fam ain't it.
